One of the BEST shows on Netflix India right now. It keeps you hooked for such weird and creepy reasons. It has been the talk of the internet as much as 13 Reasons why was. It is an off-beat teen drama with 2 main leads, both of them are screwed up and damaged teenagers, damaged to the extent that one of them thinks he might be a self-diagnosed serial killer. The end of the fucking world is an 8 part series with an abrupt ending that leads you wanting for more but also, keeps you shocked about what happened - which is the perfect blend of a perfect series.

2. Stranger Things
Stranger Things is set in a strange fictional town Hawkins, Indiana in 1983. This sci-fi-drama supernatural thriller kicks off when a young boy vanishes somewhere in thin air and his mother, friends and the police forces encounter a series of creepy elements in the small town while on his lookout. Secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces, and one strange little girl come to the surface while everybody is set out on the search for the little boy. The show is inspired by and pays homage to classic films of 1980's, in particular, the films of Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter, as well as the novels of Stephen King. The season received critical and audience acclaim and was praised for its directing, acting performances, title sequence, and synth-heavy score. It is a walk down the memory lane to the 80s - a time that captivated an entire generation. After two successful and critically acclaimed two seasons, it has been renewed for a third season - which is apparently going to bring in new elements, including a new mystery kid on the block.

3. Narcos
Narcos is a Netflix- Original crime-drama series that chronicles the criminal exploits of the drug kingpins of the late 70's and 80's. The first season covers the raw and gruesome real-life incidents of the biggest cocaine producer and distributor - Pablo Escobar. Set in the town of Columbia, United States, it a factual account of the gritty war against drug cartels, the insane amount of violence, the money and power that came with it caused through the years. Told from the perspective of a DEA agent, Steve Murphy. Escobar's violent acts and the struggle of DEA to put an end to the flow of cocaine to the United States makes up the first and the second season. The third season follows the death of Pablo, with the DEA's fight against the next biggest cocaine kingdom in the United States - The Cali Cartel. After much contemplation, season 4 was renewed in March. Let's see what that has in store for us now.

4. Master of None
Loosely based on Comic Aziz Ansar's real-life experiences, together with writer Alan Yang, he creates magic on the screen with this Netflix-Original comedy series. This semi-autobiographical series is about Dev - who is persistent through his struggles in being a professional actor in New York City. On his personal front, the show also portrays his personal and love-life angles and how he sails through them. Even after the wide-held negative public view about Aziz Ansari's recent sexual assault rumors, we can't deny the fact that he is the master of comedy. This series is a direct example of that -It has received critical acclaim, appeared on multiple year-end top ten lists, and received multiple awards and nominations, winning three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe.

5. Breaking Bad
With a 9.5 rating on IMDB and a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, this show was all the rage when it first aired in 2008, and it still is a rage even though it ended in 2013. Breaking Bad references never get too old. Walter White, a decent family man, and a chemistry teacher, when diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, is lured into the money-making business of methamphetamine manufacturing and selling to pay his medical debts and secure a future for his family. When White and Jesse Pinkman first appeared in 2008, the Sopranos had just ended, Mad Men had just begun and we were in the throes of what soon became known as the ‘golden age of TV’. Breaking Bad is now rightfully placed at the top of this category. Walter White and Jesse Pinkman have such a strong screen presence, that every other show would feel a little off after you watch Breaking Bad. This one is a must-watch everyone.

6. The Crown
Who doesn't love transferring to a different historical era while they watch period dramas and shutting off the world? The Crown is one of those shows where you'll leave all your worries behind and transport to the era of Queen Elizabeth II. This series was praised for its direction, writing, cinematography, production values, the relatively accurate historical account of Queen Elizabeth's reign. The series is a record of the life of Queen Elizabeth right from her marriage in 1847 to the present day. The show is supposed to last for six seasons with 10 episodes each. A lot of research has gone into creating this series which claimed to be as true to the real events as possible. Queen Elizabeth has faced daunting challenges both in her professional an personal life in this ever-changing world and the show portrays her strength to handle it like a queen ( literally ).
This Netflix show is a definite yes for feminists who love women-centric periodical dramas.

7. Arrested Development
An instant classic, laugh-out-loud funny, irreverent are the words largely used for most of the comic shows, however, Arrested Development is the one show that actually deserves this praise. Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman), a widower with a 13-year-old son, named George-Michael (Michael Cera), is forced to keep his large and dysfunctional family together after his father (Jeffery Tambor) is arrested for shifty accounting practices at the family-owned conglomerate and the Bluth family assets are frozen, making each member of the eccentric family panicking. Michael Bluth is the sane one out of the lot. This Emmy Award-Winning show has the wit and humor of the level of The Simpsons. And much to our amazement, rumors are, Season 5 is returning to our very own personal brand of heroine -| Netflix | for a renewal.

8. BoJack Horseman
An adult animated black comedy-drama series. This dark comedy has a Humanoid Horse as the main protagonist. With Jesse Pinkman from The Breaking Bad making a comeback in this show, this show has really been appraised for its super realistic take on depression, trauma, addiction, self-destructive behavior, and the human experience and satirical take on current events, politics, and show business. Set in the Los Angeles area, this is an alternate Universe where humans live side by side with anthropomorphic animals ( where people attribute real human behavior and experiences to wild and domestic animals ). If you are interested in watching an on-screen personification of the dark fears, thoughts, and emotions you go through in your everyday lives, then this is the show you land at on Netflix India.

In this live-action series, he is blinded at a very young age and as he grows older, he thinks he's bringing order to the city. Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero. This show is different and darker than any other show Marvel has produced so far. You will be left bewildered at what the show has to offer within the first few episodes of Daredevil.

A 4-part mini British television series looks into the murder of a Muslim pizza delivery guy and find out a larger conspiracy at play behind this. Piers Wenger, the BBC’s head of drama, described the series as “a contemporary and thought-provoking state-of-the-nation thriller that pushes the boundaries of what audiences expect. The murder takes place without any seeming reason and logic. And the show is the perfect presentation of how easily the town goes on without noticing the death and even the pizza delivery restaurant keeps functioning without much contemplation and how everything becomes lost in the roar of a city like London.

This British sci-fi anthology series is your chance to choose the good episodes that you can gulp in easily and weed out the bad ones - ( trust us, when we say this, some of the episodes are really hard to comprehend ). Humans have evolved faster than ever after the scientific revolution and these changes are happening before we can even process them. Black Mirror acquired its name from how your laptop and phone screens look when the devices are switched off. And it is a show that shows us the reality of how deep in shit we are. It is contemporary and unpredictable at the same time, and it is also downright disturbing. It can horrify the living daylights out of you. It seeks to decode the effects of digital technology on our lives and also, predicts it's inevitable futuristic consequences. If you are having a hard time letting go of your social media addiction, this is your time to watch it.
