When Marvel Studios released Black Panther in theatres in February 2018, the entire world exclaimed, “Wakanda Forever!” The film became one of the highest-grossing films of all time and the best-reviewed picture in Marvel’s cinematic universe. Of course, a sequel is in the works. While Black Panther 2 missed Marvel’s major Phase 4 unveiling at Comic-Con International 2019, it was revealed at Disney’s D23 event a month later.
Bringing back director and co-writer Ryan Coogler, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will likely be set in a very different Marvel universe than the first film, thanks to the events of both the original movie and Avengers: Endgame.

Chadwick Boseman was due to return in the starring role of T’Challa, but he died in August 2020 at the age of 43 after a private battle with cancer. Plans for how Marvel plans to respond to his passing have not been revealed.

What is Wakanda Forever about?
Coogler began filming in Atlanta in late June, although official information is scant thus far. The film will allegedly examine Wakanda’s reintroduction to the world after decades of living in the shadows.
Rumours have long circulated that the film will pit the nation of Wakanda against the people of the Lost City of Atlantis. It’s been widely rumoured that the film will include the feature debut of Namor the Sub-Mariner, with Narcos: Mexico’s Tenoch Huerta allegedly in discussions for the part of Marvel’s copycat Aquaman.
According to the plot synopsis, the film will follow Namor on his mission to get the rare metal vibranium, which is only found in Wakanda. After years of peace, the two hidden countries might be at odds, causing devastation both above and below the ocean.

Naturally, this should all be taken with a grain of salt.
There has been no news on how Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would fit into the branching timelines established by Loki and the future features Spider-Man: No Way Home and Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Black Panther was unique in the MCU in that it was able to craft a more confined tale without being constrained by the tie-ins to other films. Allowing Coogler to do his own thing and allowing Wakanda Forever to inspire what comes next, rather than the other way around, might be the answer.
Who is returning for Wakanda Forever?
Coogler’s sequel will continue the tale of Wakanda’s global premiere, and many of the original cast members will return. T’Challa’s tech genius sister Shuri, Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as warrior/love interest Nakia, and Angela Bassett as T’Challa’s mother, Ramonda, are among the cast members.

Martin Freeman’s bureaucratic Everett Ross and Winston Duke’s tribal ally M’Baku will reappear in the film. Danai Gurira has also been confirmed to reprise her role as Dora Milaje fighter Okoye, a figure who will also appear in an upcoming Disney+ series about Wakanda’s all-female army.
Recent Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya has been humorously cagey about a comeback to the series. In contrast, Jordan has flatly refused to answer if his sympathetic villain Killmonger will return in flashback or the film’s vibrant afterlife environment.
Who is joining the cast?
Though Huerta’s hiring remains a rumour, the film has verified that Michaela Coel has come on for an undisclosed part. The British Chewing Gum actress is most known for her debut appearance on HBO’s harrowing I May Destroy You and her supporting work on the legendary Black Mirror episode “USS Callister”.

Iron Man is one of the earliest Marvel films, with Robert Downey Jr. providing one of his greatest performances as Tony Stark, who builds his own super-powered suit and embarks on a heroic voyage. The first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series was released in 2008, marking the beginning of the 24-picture franchise. It was certainly one of the best Marvel movies.
