Saraf emphasized, "The thing common between the two films is that they belong to the same franchise. But it’s a new story altogether, a love story about Gen Z."

The original "Ishq Vishk," directed by Ken Ghosh, was a sleeper hit that marked Shahid Kapoor's acting debut. It also starred Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasurywala and was praised for its soundtrack.
