As much as we love jeans, they can be quite damaging to the environment. Excessive water usage and toxic dyes and chemicals are just a few of denim's negative side effects. Responsible Italian denim company Candiani developed biodegradable denim in 2019. Made completely of plant-based materials, the denim gives back to the environment by breaking down post-use and releasing nutrients into the soil to help with the growth of plants and trees. Biodegradable denim is great because it shrinks your waste footprint. Oh, and it looks good, too.
Where to buy it from?
Levis is one of those brands that offer a wide variety of biodegradable denim. In 2010, Levi's launched the Better Cotton Initiative, which trains farmers to use less water, pesticides, insecticides, and synthetic fertilizers when growing cotton plants. Today, the brand uses cotton from sustainable sources in 100% of its products. Check out this Women Blue Super Skinny Fit Mid-Rise Clean Look Stretchable Jeans from Levis.
