From looking after every carnal need of a man to hilariously taking over a profession largely dominated by a man, female comics in India are finally making their way to people's heart despite constant gender-specific stereotypical bashing. You may roll your eyes and wave your hand in denial when I say girls can also be funny but hey! It's the truth and you don't know what you are missing.

To give you guys a little sneak of women's funny side I have a list of top 5 Indian females who are killing it as comedians worldwide.

1. Neeti Palta

People fall in love with Neeti's innate sense of humour even if she talks about random incidences from her life. True stories mixed with typical Indian or even human behaviourism is her bread and butter. She was voted as the best Stand Up Comic at the Oz Fest and was India’s first Stand Up to perform at Melbourne for the prestigious Melbourne Comedy Festival 2013. If you haven't had the chance to catch her live performances yet you can always watch her comedy special "Almost Sanskari" on Amazon, it's amazing.

2. Aditi Mittal

She is a literal rendition of Women gone rogue. Her bold, right in your face comedy hits the right spot every time. Aditi is hailed as one of the first women to try comedy in India and a decade later she is still a better-known face in the industry. You will come for her barbaric takes on Indian aunties which will tickle your ribs but leave with some brazen humorous views on sensitive subjects like sex, bras and periods. Yes. she is that good.

3. Sonali Thakker Desai

An accidental comic who landed on the stage with thick glasses and a dark sense of humour leaving behind her career in Accountancy is a funny story altogether. She broke all the women prejudices in the industry and back home by being funny and living her dreams that too coming from a Gujarati family. And her stories from travelling, shopping and chaprigiri work like a charm on the stage.

4. Radhika Vaz

writer and a pioneer in the stand-up scene who made her way through every possible judgement of our society and still managed to be funny about it. This lady paints quite a picture while she performs and hits you hard with an unexpected hilarious climax. Radhika's wacky portrayal of a women's life is extraordinary and something you don't want to miss.

5. Jeeya Sethi

She is as snazzy as her Instagram handle; Jeeya Dhadak Dhadak and her comedy is as relatable as your life. Jeeya took a major leap by changing her field from event producer and promoter to a world-class comedian. Her content is raw and fresh which makes her connection with the audience all the more strong. She is the queen of expressions and quite unapologetic when it comes to sensitive topics we usually hesitate from.
