The Single Malt and Co might not be the best or the most happening pub in Pune, but it deserves a place on your must-visit list for a good reason. And the very name of the pub gives that reason away. Yes, the Single Malt and Co is best known for its extensive collection of single malts. Whether you are looking for Bourbons, Scotches, Irish Whiskies or the regulars like Chivas, Dewar’s and Signature, this place has it all and more. It also has a special list of cocktails straight from the bartender, including whiskey-based ones like Father of Father, Old Pal, and Forbidden Apple. Located in the central lobby of Hyatt Regency, it boasts cosy interiors with leather chairs, dim lights, outdoor seating, and live music.

The House Of Medici at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park perfectly amalgamates the exuberant and majestic ambience resonating the aura of renaissance architectural design with a contemporary flair. The elegant decor, pulsating live performances and exciting menu make it an ideal destination to celebrate life every day. The cocktail list here is succinct, having a 104-foot-long horseshoe-shaped bar, which is the longest in the country. Best of all, it’s a bargain—come here for inventive riffs on classic recipes and Benedetto Dei, a gin-based cocktail named after the Italian poet who was adjutant to the Medici family.

If you are a Punekar in your twenties, 1000 Oaks needs no introduction; it is probably where you had your first drink. For those new to the city, here’s everything you should know about the place. More popularly known as T-Oaks, this is an extremely popular pub in Pune with a bar, restaurant, and an open garden area. It was once a bungalow and later converted into what it is today – a resto-bar. When it comes to décor and music, classic is the word that defined T-Oaks. And if you want to feel nostalgic listening to iconic retro music (yeah, hits of Bryan Adams included!), come here. The North Indian food here will not disappoint you. Don’t forget to order their Barman’s Pitcher, which is and has always been the crowd favourite.

The 1st Brewhouse - The Corinthians, usually known as Doolally's motto says ‘Treat your beer with respect,’ and the real lure here is the microbrewery. Crafted by German brewmaster Oliver Schauf, it is one of the best pubs in Pune where you can enjoy the city’s charming weather, too. It is a pro gastropub, with classics like sausage and mashes with lashings of onion gravy among other Indian and European dishes. On a Sunday, of course, you can sit on its wooden bar stool with barrels as tables.

Along with a rocking ambience, this place also offers delicious food from American to European cuisines. A favourite nightspot already among music lovers and students with its fantasy lighting and charming interiors. It has events like live music and sports screenings almost every day. The mocktails are delicious and accompany the food well. Sourdough Bowl and Sriracha Pizza are our favourites here.

Another best bar cum pub that praises the long-standing relationship between Pune and its rooftop bars, Penthouze offers terrific perspectives of the city. The imbuements are a blend of worldwide spirits, developed in select oak barrels in-house, enhanced with Indian flavours. For instance, the Spiced Old-Fashioned is rum mixed with flavours, matured for 21 days. The Harissa Marinated Pollo Supreme is an impeccable fix for your hunger. Make this place the date night you were planning for a long time, or just go there for a relaxing evening with family and friends.

Tucked into the Fortaleza Central Avenue in Kalyani Nagar, this gastropub offers a tribute to India’s Mining Community which focuses on tribal drinks and recipes from the different mining areas of the country as its name indicates. It pays homage to these mining communities with its murals on walls featuring the black and white motifs of life around mines. With amazing items on the menu which use ingredients like roselle flower petals and galangal specially brought from the Jainthia Hills. This is one of the best pubs in Pune to explore the history of the mining towns of the North East, where Chef Saby belongs.

Bars and pubs designed in the industrial style décor are rising in popularity these days, and why not. This school of décor has an undeniable rustic and minimalistic charm. Don’t believe us? Go to the Urban Foundry and you will be convinced in two shakes of a lamb’s tail. As you would have already guessed from the name, the theme here is a foundry, aka a factory for metal castings. And the food and drinks here are equally stunning, while live music, live sports screening, and nightlife make it a hot favourite among young party animals. Even the bar menu here is fun to read, as cocktails and alcohol are categorised based on metals and alloys. Keep in mind that it’s pretty hard to score a table here any night of the week, and even more on a Friday night. So, you better be an early bird!

The cocktails and mocktails here are equally exciting; so is the food. The warm and woody interiors with bookshelves and board games will make you want to stay here forever.

If you like to chill with a drink after a long day at work, perhaps in the company of similarly weary colleagues or friends, Swig is the ideal place to go to. This is a no-jazz resto-bar with a dimly lit, lounge-like atmosphere which allows you to enjoy your drink in relative peace. The island bar has comfy seating around it, and the Jagermeister Mojito is popular among the patrons. The food is mostly European, with some Pan-Asian delicacies thrown in. Even if you visit during the daytime and are feeling more active, the outdoor seating area has a foosball table where you and your friends can showcase your skills. If you’d show off your footwork in another way and were looking for dance bars in Pune, there’s a dancing area as well!

This bar is an Asian-inspired business that provides visitors with a refined, peaceful experience that differs from the raucous pub environment, as the name suggests. Naturally, the Asian influences result in a vast sake wall, which is wonderful if you're looking for something different from the normal beers and whiskies. Their cocktail menu is also pretty diverse, and the food menu is similarly themed, with mouthwatering dishes that go perfectly with the drinks offered.
