Planning a night out with your gang? There are many bars and pubs in India to head to. But, if you’re hoping to go beyond the regular karaoke and gigs, and want something more fun, there are a bunch of places for that too. From pub quizzes to art workshops and binge-watching TV series, there’s plenty of fun activities to look out for.
So, here are some kick-ass places to head out to, to grab a drink and enjoy some fun activities.
Beer and bowling? We’re on board in a jiff. Throw in the potential drinking game with a fun competition {could get intense!}, and Pitstop Bowling And Brewpub is the perfect setting for chillin’ with old buds. They also have a pool table; so you could always try this alternate activity.
Yes Minister in Essex Farms, of which we hold fond memories, is a snazzy bar, with a bowling alley and a mechanical bull of all things. You’ve seen it on TV, and now you can try it, with a little liquid courage beforehand. Don’t overdo it, though, or you might end up passing out in the washroom.
We agree that laughter is the best medicine, and coupled with some of Manhattan’s praiseworthy German Wheat Beer, it only makes it better. Witness Delhi’s finest comics with their takes on life, love and practically everything under the sun.

Wooden tables showered with bright lights at Bandra’s Reclamation, glasses of chilled micro-brewed beer stand tall alongside towers of Jenga, piled up high by patrons and happy customers. At Doolally Taproom, Bandra, shelves line the walls with boxes of Cards Against Humanity, UNO and more, because what better way to unwind after a long day of work than beer with board games.

Aptly named, this grunge-style bar welcomes patrons with black lights, a neon ambience and music ringing through the bar. Two large pool tables sit in the middle, as the walls are lined with customer-made graffiti. You, too, can ask for a marker and scribble away. Cheap beer, a casual, grunge atmosphere and neon-lit pool await you at one of Mumbai’s most iconic bars.

Music floods the air at Bandra’s Monkey Bar, adjacent to the sister-restaurant Fatty Bao. With towers of beer, extraordinarily creative cocktails and delicious culinary treats adorning each table, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day. Going one step further, there is no better way to blow off some steam than a quick game of foosball. Once again, you should remember, the loser buys the next round.

While Vapour hosts match screenings, tribute gigs and lively music, we love their Cluesday editions — a pub quiz to liven up your Tuesday evenings. With its standards set high, the event is apparently a favourite among regular patrons at the bar. While it’s mostly a general knowledge quiz (hosted by different people each week), the topics covered could be anything from movies and music to current affairs. And, what’s more, the bill for the winning table is on the house!

From film screenings and art workshops to stand-up comedy, facilitated discussions and sessions for travel stories, The Humming Tree definitely has more than just energy-packed music. They even host plays now and then.

Looking for something beyond the regular karaoke nights and gigs? Church Street Social has quite a bit to add to your events calendar. From their recent Food Focus Workshop which puts the spotlight on food photography and styling to their monthly meetup series for vinyl enthusiasts, they have something interesting happening very frequently. Amazing, isn't it? You get to learn and explore while drinking.

We believe that the only thing that amps up a night full of cocktails is a fun activity to go with it {and the possibility of drinking games!}.
