I don't know about you, but being stuck indoors with a toddler does NOT fit into my idea of a fun time. Yes, they're cute, and I'd be lying if I said their antics didn't carry some wholesome entertainment value, but for more than a couple of hours? Yup, I'd probably lose my mind.

Even if you're cursing at me from behind your screen for not enjoying the company of children, you can't deny the fact that while you will probably be able to think of things to do for a few days, the remaining time period will, in all likelihood, end up in frustration for both the parties, especially as you struggle to entertain a tiny person half your age, but with twice the amount of energy. If that sounds a lot like your situation at the moment, there's no need to fret, just yet.

We have compiled a list of 5 fun activities you can enjoy at home if you're locked down with a child. So without any further ado, leggo?

1. Build A Pillow Fort In Your Living Room

Let's be honest. You've always wanted to do this but did not have a child or anybody reasonably young around, to shift the blame on. But guess what? Now you do! So collect all your pillows, grab a few blankets, make arrangements for snacks, and join hands with your adorable new partner, to construct a magnificent pillow fort in your living room, derived straight from your fondest childhood dreams.

2. Try Your Hand At Hand Painting

Everybody knows children LOVE messy hands-on activities, and everybody knows so do adults, but few admit to it. Even if you don't count yourself in, participating in a fun artsy activity involving your hands and creativity with a toddler, could be a great way to naturally relieve stress, and be reminded of the simple joys of life. So grab a few cans of paint, and a blank canvas, and get hand-painting with your young lockdown partner.

3. Create An Obstacle Course & Laugh Your Day Off

Remember Takeshi's Castle, and how we'd spend hours watching the show and laughing our behinds off? Well, why not re-create a smaller but IRL version? Flower pots, old cardboard pieces, pillows, or water bottles, use any item you can get your hands on that can be an obstacle in your course. Go crazy with levels, routes and even challenges. Best part? You don't have to participate if you don't want to. But witnessing a child have the time of his life on your obstacle course, will probably make you want to join in.

4. Host An Indoor Fashion Show

Not only do you now have the time to host one, but you also have the perfect model for all your experimental outfits. Always wanted to make a dress out of newspaper? Now you can both make one, and get someone to exhibit it. So let your imagination run wild and come up with a few cool ensembles with your toddler friend. Next step? Gather everybody in the living room, and hold your model's hand as you both strut your stuff.

5. Play Hide & Seek

Have a crucial meeting you need to attend, but also a child you need to attend to? Start a game of hide and seek, and ask them to hide. Amp up the challenge by claiming your title as an undefeated Hide & Seek champion. The kid is now putting all his skills to use, to hide from you for as long as he/she can? Great! Go turn on that laptop. Be sure to throw in an enthusiastic "Where are you" every now and then, for best results. We won't recommend doing this for more than 20 minutes though. But you're welcome to follow up with an actual game of Hide & Seek to make up for it. Life is all about balance.

Spend your lock-down, kidding around. Heh, get it?
