The Jaipur Literature Festival is a magnificent literature fiesta that brings together under one umbrella, the greatest literary minds in the world. Orchestrated on an annual basis in the city of Jaipur, JLF witnesses some of the best writers, thinkers, literature experts, humanitarians, business leaders, entertainers as well as sportsmen interacting, discussing, debating ideas and thoughts, and engaging in meaningful dialogue with one another and with the visitors.

What began as a modest initiative in 2006 has over the years, with keen reception and enthusiastic participation, transformed into a grand global-scale literary phenomenon known as the Jaipur Literature Festival.

Thursday, 23rd January 2020 to Monday, 27th January 2020 

9 AM to 6:30 PM

Located in a 19th-century palace, Hotell Diggi Palace is one of the finest heritage hotels in the country with luxury and extravagance greeting you at every step. The property is nothing short of stunning, with a gamut of things to do and places to visit nearby. 

 

Jaipur Literature Festival 2020 Registrations 

In order to gain entry to the festival, you need to mandatorily register for the event, either online on the official JLF 2020 website, or in person.

 

You can either opt for the General Entry or Delegate Entry. The former will provide you with free entry to all the sessions at the festival, while the latter will equip you with full entry to the festival, private sessions, access to Delegate Lounge, lunch and dinner (unlimited buffet food and alcohol), cocktail evening, and music events. Unfortunately, the online registrations for the General Pass are already closed, but you can still get your hands on limited on-ground tickets available on a first serve first come basis at the festival venue from 22nd January 2020 12 PM onwards.

Jaipur BookMark and iWrite 

Held in parallel with the Jaipur Literature Festival, Jaipur BookMark is South Asia's biggest publishing conclave. Jaipur BookMark aims to bridge the gap between writers, publishers, translators and book distributors and facilitate interaction within and amongst these groups. 

 

 

iWrite is a platform for writers, storytellers, poets and creators who are yet to be discovered. It provides novice authors with an opportunity to enter their unpublished manuscripts and win a chance to get mentored, receive feedback, or better yet, get a book deal! Each person can submit a maximum of one entry for a nominal handling fee of INR 1000.

A. Namita Gokhale and William Dalrymple are the Festival Directors, while the Jaipur Literature Festival is produced by Teamwork Arts.

 

Q. Is the Jaipur Literature Festival organised anywhere else in the world?

A. In addition to the flagship event in Jaipur city, JLF also has editions in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. 

 

Q.  Can I book accommodation/travel on the official Jaipur Literature Festival website? 

A. Yes, you can book hotels and transport packages at discounted rates on the official JLF website. Transport booking through the festival is only available to Delegates. 

 

Q. How much does it cost to become a Festival Delegate at the Jaipur Literature Festival 2020?

A. The Festival Delegate Packages (per person) are as follows:

Q. Is food available at the venue?

A. Yes, the Jaipur Literature Festival 2020 will have a number of F&B stalls you can purchase from. For Festival Delegates, meals are included in the package. 

 

Q. Where is the Jaipur Music Stage? 

A. The venue for the Jaipur Music Stage is at Hotel Clarks Amer, and NOT Hotel Diggi Palace where the main festival is scheduled to happen. 

 

Q. Are on-ground/on the spot registrations free? 

A. On ground registrations will cost INR 300 per person, from 23rd January 2020 onwards. 

 

Q. How do I collect my Festival Access Tag post registering? 

A. When you arrive at the Festival Hub, you need to present your code, email or SMS along with a valid photo ID card at the General Registration Counter in order to receive your Festival Access Tag. You need to carry this tag with you whenever you are at the festival, failing to do which can result in eviction. 

 

Q. What documents do I need to carry with me? 

A. Every visitor (including children) at the Jaipur Literature Festival 2020 is required to carry a valid government-issued photo ID and the registration code or a printed copy of the registration.
