It's Time To Bake-Free With These Easy To Make Desserts At Home

It's frustrating enough that we are stuck at home for what it feels like an eternity every day, but now we have to cater to our own sugar cravings? Well, in a pandemic situation like ours, the ability to sit back under a roof is our special weapon and giving up on it for a dessert you are craving isn't worth it.

What if I tell you, there's a way to whip up a scrummy dessert right in your kitchen and you'll never even have to turn on your oven ever again to do so...

 

While you wrap your heads around over what I said, let me quickly give you what you've been itching for day after day; straight outta heaven desserts that are easy to make whilst avoiding all that bake-&-burn accidents you are prone to. 

 

1. Peanut Butter Cookies

Why abuse your PB jars for sandwiches and other run-of-the-mill dishes when you can easily get homemade cookies out of them? A buttery treat sent right from heaven is never enough for a greedy soul like ours. And don't worry I'll keep my promise and make it bake-free, just the way you like it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup or (1 stick) butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp non-iodized salt
  • 2 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

 

How To Make Peanut Butter Cookies

  1. In a saucepan with medium heat combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter and milk in the quantities mentioned in the ingredients. 
  2. Bring the mixture to boil and it should take about a minute or so. 
  3. Turn off the heat and add peanut butter, vanilla extract and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
  4. While stirring, also add the oats as mentioned in the ingredients above. Keep stirring until evenly distributed.
  5. Drop tablespoonfuls of this mixture in a baking pan covered with butter paper.
  6. Let the cookies sit and cool down. Should take about 30 minutes. Unleash the cookies and get ready to get hooked.

 

Side tip: Add nuts for a crunch fest.

 

 

2. Confetti Squares

Marshmallows dipped in chocolate is a frozen dessert too much to handle. And this one is as pretty as it is tasty. There is no way your Familia would be able to hold their sweet-hankering after they catch a glance of what came out of the frozen land. It's like a party for the heart and family.

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of non-iodized salt
  • 1 bag of mini rainbow marshmallows

 

How to make Confetti Squares

  1. Grease a baking pan with cooking spray/oil.
  2. In a nonstick pan heat the chocolate chips and peanut butter over medium heat. Let them melt and jell up.
  3. Turn off the heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt until evenly distributed.
  4. Let the melted fun cool down to room temperature and then add the rainbow marshmallows.
  5. Stir and then pour the mixture into the baking pan. Refrigerate the mixture until set.
  6. Take out the chilled dessert after 2 hours and let the party begin!

 

Side tip: Add gems to make it brighter and colourful.

 
 
 

3. Chocolate Cereal Treat

Here's a no-bake surprise for you. A brisk dessert recipe that you'll be teaching your kids one day. It's easy, super-quick and hard to say no to. Go on, have a bite!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of chocolate candy/colourful gems
  • 2 1/2 cup marshmallows
  • 3 cups puffed rice cereal

 

How to make chocolate cereal treat

  1. Prepare a square baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Melt the marshmallows in a nonstick pan under medium heat. Keep stirring to avoid any kind of sticking for about 30 seconds. You can use cooking spray on the spatula as well to avoid sticking.
  3. Once melted, add rice cereal and gems to the pan. Stir until fluffy and evenly mixed. 
  4. Turn off the heat and set the mixture in the baking dish using your spatula.
  5. Cool for 30 mins and cut them into squares. Your no-bake treat is ready!

 

Side tip: You can add crushed nuts to add more crunch to the dessert.

 

 

4. Fruit Cream

If you are Indian enough, this dessert has been a real quick fix for your sweet urges since childhood. If not anything, our moms always had this fruity goodness in their back pockets, just in case! Now that you are all grown up and need a break from the monotony of hogging delicious summer fruits, here's some fruit cream ready to hit the right spot.

Ingredients

  • 1 tetra pack of Fresh Cream
  • 2 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • Fruits of your choice
  • Crushed almonds and walnuts

 

How to make Fruit Cream

  1. Dice your favourite fruits real nice and collect them in a bowl.
  2. Use apples, bananas, strawberry, grapes, oranges, etc. for the same.
  3. Empty the fresh cream pack in the bowl and add powdered sugar according to your taste.
  4. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until evenly distributed among the fruits. Keep it in the refrigerator for about 30 mins.
  5. Garnish the treat with crushed nuts and serve cold. 

 

Side tip: You can use fruits like orange, banana, strawberry and make a chocolate dip recipe if what you crave is something chocolatey. 

 

 

5. Oreo Cookie Balls

Oreo lovers, meet your new best friend; Oreo cookie balls. A perfect madness between oreo cookies and melted chocolate which is easy to make and hard to resist.

Ingredients

  • 2 Packets of Oreo Biscuit (16 pack)
  • 1 pack of cream cheese
  • Pinch of non-iodized salt
  • 2 cups of chocolate chips

 

How to make Oreo Cookie Balls

  1. Blend the oreo cookies in a blender. Keep 2 tablespoons of those crushed cookies aside for later use.
  2. To remaining crush, add cream and salt. Now stir until evenly combined.
  3. Take a flat plate and cover it with butter paper. 
  4. Without further ado, make the mixture into small balls using a small scoop or spoon and place them on the plate.
  5. Freeze these balls for about 30 mins.
  6. Now melt the chocolate chips you have and dip these frozen balls of absolute amazement into them one by one. 
  7. Sprinkle the kept aside crushed cookie on each ball and freeze this one for 15 mins. Serve with love.

 

Side tip: You can sprinkle powdered sugar instead of crushed cookies on the balls.
