While our days of physically exploring the world are far from over, the current need of the hour has caused the entire world population to shift to a more digital medium. After all, when your biggest contribution to mankind could potentially come down to whether you stayed indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic, resorting to the online world to have your share of fun is a far wiser choice. A fact known by all, by now.

Which is why, a lot of the cool things we previously had to leave our houses to do, can now be done in the convenient world of the Internet. So, here's a list of 5 such exciting things you can now do online, from your bedroom:

1. Take a museum tour

Your dreams of idly walking around a museum on a rainy Tuesday afternoon just turned (virtually) real! A number of world-class museums allow you to go on a virtual tour on their website, and explore your favourite timeless pieces of art, through the screen of your computer. You can gaze admiringly at some of the most exquisite creations displayed across the world, from different angles and distance, all through your world wide web. Some of our favourites include Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and Louvre in Paris

2. Go on a vacation

With the fortunate advent of technology and this thing called virtual vacation sites, going on a holiday no longer requires your physical presence! All you need to do is pick a country, state or city, and venture out on a virtual trip that allows you to visit popular tourist destinations, and marvel at them like you're right there, all from your computer screen, of course! Some such virtual vacation sites are Globe Genie360 Cities and Air Pano

3. Explore space

There are a number of space-dedicated websites on the Internet that furnish you with the most mind-blowing pictures, videos and simulated media of the universe around us. If you've always been fascinated by the world beyond Earth, you can hop onto websites like Solar System Scope, View Space and Space Engine, to bring out the space explorer you always knew you had in you!

4. Track a shark

Nope, you didn't hear that wrong. Marine Research Group OCEARCH, has built a Track Sharker tool that allows you to follow tagged sharks as they swim all over the world. All the sharks have assigned names, and you can track their swimming activity, read interesting facts about them and see which sharks are hanging out together. Strange? Maybe. Endlessly entertaining? Definitely.

5. Use a musical time machine

One of the coolest websites I've personally ever stumbled upon, Radiooooo is a musical time machine, that lets you listen to the top-charting tracks from any country during any decade. All you gotta do is pick an era, and a location, and you'll be greeted with a curated playlist of groovy tracks popular in your preferred area, during your chosen time period.
