From 6th grade Slam Books to University 3rd year farewell testimonials, if I had to pick one word used to describe me the most, the adjective lazy would emerge as a clear winner. My point is, I am more than well-versed with the strong urge to fling every important task onto an imaginary tomorrow's to-do list, just to avoid dealing with it today. Simply put, the tendency to procrastinate gets to the best (and most productive) of us, especially as far as activities as basic and boring as cleaning the house are concerned. Right?
Nope, wrong. To start with, cleaning doesn't have to this tedious, boring and time-consuming act that you've made it out to be in your head. We tend to assume that we'd need at least a couple of hours to get any substantial cleaning done, hours that we always plan to fit into our schedule but end up forgetting about. But the truth is, you think of cleaning as a mountainous task, because you're putting in a bunch of different things together. One of the most common notions that hinder progress, is the supposition that it only matters when you fix everything together at once. But fortunately, in cleaning as well as life otherwise, a singular bout of progress is better than absolute stagnancy. All this to say, some cleaning is better than no cleaning at all.
To end with, here's a round-up of 7 cleaning activities you can tackle in the next 10 minutes. So really, you might as well.
1. Do some dusting around the house
That 2-inch layer of dust that's settled onto every touchable surface in your house, is only going to compound, the longer you let it sit and collect grime. A quick cleaning solution that won't take you more than 10 minutes, would be to dust off the fixtures, racks and shelves in your house. Always try to use a cotton cloth to do the same.

2. Scrub your toilet bowl
Let's get real. You're anyway not going to spend more than 10 minutes on this task because of how unpleasant it is. But fun or not, our toilet seats and pots could really use a good 10-minute scrub every now and then.
3. Change your bed sheet and pillow covers
Most of us tend to underestimate how frequently our bedsheets require changing. Think about it, the topmost layer of your bed is likely to collect the most dirt, dead skin, and grime compared to any other upholstery in the house. So unless you want to marinate in your own muck, take 10 minutes to change your bedspread, pillow covers and maybe spritz a drop or two of a nice perfume as a reward. If you want to buy new bed sheet, then we have the perfect choice for you.

4. Throw expired food items from your fridge
We are just going to assume that you don't let expired food and beverage items sit in your fridge for more than a week, for the sole sake of our sanity. Please throw 'em out. Picking and chucking in the dustbin won't take more than 10 minutes, and you'll be left with a much more hygienic refrigerator. And, if you want to keep your food fresh, you can use zip locks.

5. Clean the mirror in your bedroom
If not for the sake of cleanliness, do it for all those mirror selfies. Random fingerprints and strange marks on your mirror don't exactly make for great photo accessories, now do they?

6. Organise your medicine cabinet
And please for the love of God, throw away expired medicines. You know, to avoid a repeat telecast of taking an expired Crocin to treat your fever, but ending up with a stomach ache instead.
